The Oreo Foundation:The Oreo Foundation is a a small non-profit group estabished by Jeff Smith, in memory of his first horse, Oreo. It was originally registered in Connecticut but is now based in Virginia, and support projects in the following areas:
-- Public education through living history
-- Living history presentations in schools
-- Historic preservation
-- Mounted search and rescue teams
-- Riding for the disabled
The Foundation has not yet received 501(c)(3) status and contributions are not yet tax deductible.
It is not a grant-giving foundation, and its work is currently limited to defraying some of the expenses of volunteers who donate their time in the above areas, and for educational projects such as this website.
