Ranger: Jeff's New Horse:

"Ranger" is a Virginian -- he came from Prince William County on the edge of Mosby's Confederacy, but was bred at Virginia Tech. He is a 14.2 hand, chestnut Arabian gelding, with the stocky "Polish Arab" build naturally suited to long-distance trail work.(this picture shows him in English tack, for a Rev. War Trail ride Jeff did for the Lee Boyhood Home)

His registered name is "Windstar's Bright Ma", but that seemed rather a mouthful and we couldn't figure out the "Ma" part, as he doesn't act like anybody's mama! So, Ranger he became.

Compared to his predecessor, Ranger is still a bit green. Jeff is still training him but he shows enormous aptitude as a cavalry mount.
