According to his ggg grandson, Charles (Chuck) Walker, III, of West Virginia, an Amhest County history book (one of these late 19th c. / early 20th c. local history / biography books) mentions that Pvt. Miller was action adjutant for the battalion during an absence by Col. Mosby's brother, Willie Mosby, the permanent adjutant. Mr. Walker is sending me a photocopy of this reference and it will be reproduced here when available, including an original of his obituary
