Herndon's own Jimmy Cirrito, owner of Jimmy's Old Town Tavern, portraying a documented member of Mosby's command at the time of the raid known only to history as "Jimmy the Irishman" He first is documented at Frying Pan and may have been a local resident

If you want to teach, get to their eye level! Doug explains to Herndon children about weapons and accoutrements of Civil soldiers and the difference between cavalry and infantry.
