"Surrender or die, Yanks!"

Blackpowder gun smoke fills the air as the Rangers charge the First Vermont Cavalry at Herndon Station.

Capt. Mosby, aided by Rangers "Big Yankee" Ames and John DeButts, round up the Vermonters who took cover in the sawmill, threatening to burn it down if they did not surrender.

Sgt. Jonathan Blin Aitcheson of Co. A, (C.R. Dudley) stays on the ground so that Mosby's men will think he's more seriously wounded than he is and thus not take him prisoner. Ranger William Lyle Hunter (Bill Scott) surveys the situation.
