Mosby's Rangers.com is an online clearinghouse for information about "the Gray Ghost", Col. John Singleton Mosby, CSA, and his partisan rangers, the 43rd Virginia Cavalry battalion.

Dedication: This site is dedicated to the memory of Virgil Carrington "Pat" Jones and Jim Moyer, two giants in the world of Mosby related research. The loss of both of them in the autumn of 1999 is still felt deeply by historians and friends around the world.

The site is produced by Kathryn Coombs, a life long Mosby fan and amateur historian (and Civil War civilian living historian) raised in "Mosby's Confederacy", in association with Jeff Smith, who has been portraying Col. Mosby for over six years in living history events and presentations to school and civic groups. Our aim is to increase public awareness of Col. Mosby's important role in the War Between the States, and the overall contribution made by Partisan Rangers operating behind enemy lines.

In addition, we hope to expand the research base by providing a forum through which descendants of Mosby's men and other researchers can share information, in effect building a "virtual museum" online, support relevant historic preservation efforts, and provide news on forthcoming events of interest.
